How do I decide which rod kit or blank I should buy?

Small fish: 6"-12" (Example: small bass, sunfish, brook trout) - Buy 8' 6:4, 12' 6:4

Medium fish: 12"-18" (Example: largemouth bass, rock bass, trout) - Buy 12' 6:4, 12' 8:2, Triple Zoom

Large fish: 18"-24" (Example: Largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, brown trout)  - Buy 12' 8:2, Triple Zoom

Very Large fish: 24"+ (Example: Steelhead, brown trout, salmon)  - Buy 13' 8:2

 

I have never built a fishing rod, can I build one of your BYO kits?

Yes, all of our kits are beginner friendly.  Some of our kits come with the handle and hardware pieces dry fitted so you know where they have to be glued.  If you can mix epoxy, you can build our kits 🙂  We have several pdf and video instructions in the 'How To' section of our site.

 

Shipping

Domestic: USPS Priority 2-3 day

International: USPS Priority International

Processing time: Typically 1-3 days to process and ship

How are my shipping costs calculated: Shipping costs are based on weight of package and your location.  For a shipping estimate, place items into your shopping cart and use our shipping calculator.

 

What is your warranty?

6 Months on all items we sell, including rod blanks, BYO Kits, furled lines, fly boxes, etc.

NOTE: Our tenkara rod blank warranty covers initial fit and finish and breakage under 'normal' fishing conditions.  It does not cover breakage due to misuse or abuse of the blank, including closing it in a car door, breaking the tip while walking through the woods, or using too heavy of a tippet which causes the fish to break the rod blank instead of breaking the line.  We appreciate your honesty when contacting us for warranty issues.

 

Return Policy

We will gladly accept the return of your unused items within 14 days after you received your order. Items must be returned in original packaging.  We will fully refund the entire purchase price of your order minus the original shipping costs. Customer is responsible for return shipping costs.

 

Exchange Policy

If you would like to exchange an item you received, please contact us at info@tenkaracustoms.com.  We want you to be 100% happy with the items you purchased from us 🙂

 

Cancellation Policy

If you would like to cancel an order, we will try to accommodate you as long as your order has not been shipped. If your order has already been shipped, see 'Return Policy' above.
